Creating goals is very important. Begin writing your goals on a piece of paper, which will then become your road-map to success. If you fail to write any goals or if none exist, then your website will fail. When writing goals, be sure to be specific, not general.

The following guidelines below should help you start.

  • SPECIFIC: Describes what you want to accomplish or do with as much detail as possible. (don’t over-think your ideas!)
  • REALISTIC: Goals you know you are actually capable of obtaining. (don’t beat around the bush or go over your head, keep things simple)
  • CHALLENGING: Takes energy and discipline to accomplish rewarding goals. (make sure to include at-least 1-2 challenges that you can over-come)
  • PRIORITIZED: Sets goals by time and importance into clearly specified target completion dates.
  • MEASURABLE: Describes your goals in terms that can clearly be evaluated and understood.

Review your goals! Be sure to clearly understand the goals you have set. Failure in understanding your owns goals can lead to failure. If you don’t understand what you want to achieve, how do you expect others to do so?

If you are using a FTP client such as FileZilla or any other similar client (click here to download FileZilla), you should already be familiar with the connection settings at the top.

To connect, enter your FTP credentials we have provided you with:

Now that you are connected, you need to browse to the following directory to upload your website and files. “public_html” which is displayed below:

Double click “public_html” or “www” folder and you will see your website’s file structure.

Upload your files into that directory; open your browser and visit your domain. Your website should now be live.

Reference:

/public_html – This is where your site files will go
/public_ftp – Files for your anonymous FTP
/www – same as your public_html directory
